Billed as a spiritual sequel to The Lost World, hopes were high for what was, at the time, a highly ambitious game. Sadly, these soon faded when players got their claws into this open-world disaster.

Despite having star backing in Steven Spielberg, Dickie Attenborough plus late-nineties luvvie, Minnie Driver, as our battered heroine; not to forget a revolutionary physics engine, none of this really mattered when the game itself was basically unplayable.

Seen through the first person, players have to traverse a still dinosaur-ridden Site B, getting from certain locations without getting devoured. While there are plenty of makeshift weapons and guns lying about, just waiting to be picked up and used via a weird wiggly arm, the dinosaurs you encountered were pretty much bulletproof. Still, they looked nice though.

The misery for developers DreamWorks Interactive was also increased by a slew of complaints surrounding difficulties in running the game, some buggy moments and that darned difficulty curve. Don't believe me? Try whooping a raptor with a rotting 2x4.
