Part of Madden's tinkering with the receiving system comes in the form of new ways to catch the ball. Three buttons produce three results. First off, you can opt for an Aggressive reception which will send your player soaring upwards to pluck the ball out of the sky, though the repercussions could include a big hit from a defender. Secondly you could choose a simple Possession catch. If you're barrelling into the endzone or simply looking for a crucial first down, there's nothing wrong with settling for a secure, tight grip catch that won't get you any further yards. If that's what you're after, then Run After Catch is the reception for you. It's incredibly fluid, and mightily useful if you're looking to eek out every last inch from a play. Selecting the right catch can be the difference between winning a game, or losing one. Make sure you master the art, quickly.
