It wasn't mentioned in the Franchise entry, but being able to pre-plan weekly strategies for upcoming opponents is another fun add-on to the mode. Elsewhere, EA has replicated this by allowing players to make logical halftime tweaks to their game plans, and they do affect how the second half plays out.

Say you're being burned bad by deep passes from Brady - it's now possible to quickly switch your defensive playbook so that it's geared towards stopping them. Or, maybe you've noticed that a rival struggles to stop the inside run. Strap that ball to big Derrick Henry and go, go, go!

This is genuinely the kind of feature EA should be shouting from rooftops about.

Sure, it was possible to alter plans at half time before, but one would need to trawl through drab menus to make it happen. Now, it's right there at the click of a button. Better yet, Madden has become way better at feeding live info about how opponents like to play.

That makes informed choices slicker.
