Marvel's Avengers Is An Absolute Mess

Is there any hope for the future of Marvel's Avengers? I don't know.
The roadmap of future heroes does seem quite promising and the game is sure to benefit from continuous free updates, but the game as a service model really hurts what's here.
Unless Crystal Dynamics are able to really mix up gameplay and open things up, it looks like Avengers will continue to suffer the same core issues. Fixing technical hiccups only does so much.
How Crystal Dynamics utilise the stream of new heroes is crucial to the future of the game. Pushing the story further and introducing new locations, enemies and ways to play is the only way to save this title's reputation. If the new heroes are only added to the roster to be used for the same tasks and missions with a light re-skin for enemies, players will not stick around for too long.
Everything now rides on post-launch content.
Personally, I won't be picking up the game again until Kate Bishop drops.
