Mass Effect 3 DLC: Extended Cut Wishlist vs Expectations

Three things we want and three things we can expect from Bioware's new free DLC release this summer.

While there's still no official word on exactly when, Bioware is going to release a free DLC this summer expanding on the controversial endings. Putting aside any arguments on whether this is a good way to appease angry fans or a weak willed act of caving in to unreasonable demands (because that whole thing is sooo two months ago) now's as good a time as any to focus on what fans are hoping to see with this expansion and then dash those hopes with a healthy dose of realistic expectations. To start here's 3 things that would be great to see in the DLC; SPOILERS AWAIT BEYOND THIS POINT (because seriously, how the hell else can we talk about this)

WHAT WE WANT

1. A New And Better Solution To The Reaper Threat

One of the biggest complaints among fans is that after three games worth of ignoring naysayers, kicking ass, refusing to give up when put up against seemingly insurmountable odds, Shepard suddenly wimps out and accepts that the three options given to him by "The Star Child" of "Kill, Conquer or Merge" with the Mass Relays getting destroyed no matter what (not the mention the Geth and EDI getting killed off if you take out the Reapers) are all he can do. It would be really great for players to get a chance to be the same bad ass Shepard that we've been for the rest of the series and tell that glowly blue AI bastard to suck eggs. Being able to take a proactive stance and save the day with some brilliant out of left field maneuver that knocks the Reapers on the arses would do a lot to wash out the bad taste left in the mouths of many a gamer. If that brilliant maneuver involved actually being able to make a use of all the war assets acquired over the course the game (beyond gaining extra explosion color options) it would be the sweetest elixir of all.
