Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut to be Released Next Week

BioWare has announced details and the official release date for the Extended Cut DLC.

By Matt Mann /

announced that the Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut DLC will be released next week. The Extended Cut DLC will be available on June 26 for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC in North America. European fans will have to wait a little longer as the content will be released for download on July 4th. For those who don't know this DLC will be free of charge. According to the official post, the Extended Cut DLC will be an expansion of the original ending with new cut scenes. The ending will not be fundamentally changed based off this DLC, it will more or less explain events better than what the original ending did. Here is some of the description given on the Extended Cut DLC:

"The Extended Cut expands on the endings of Mass Effect 3 through additional scenes and epilogue sequences. It provides more of the answers and closure that players have been asking for. It gives a sense of what the future holds as a result of the decisions made throughout the series. And it shows greater detail in the successes or failures based on how players achieved their endings." "The Extended Cut is an expansion of the original endings to Mass Effect 3. It does not fundamentally change the endings, but rather it expands on the meaning of the original endings, and reveals greater detail on the impact of player decisions." " To experience the Extended Cut, load a save game from before the attack on the Cerberus Base and play through to the end of the game. The Extended Cut endings will differ depending on choices made throughout the Mass Effect series, so multiple playthroughs with a variety of different decisions will be required to experience the variety of possibilities offered by the new content."
Finally, the Extended Cut DLC will be around 1.9GB of a download. Well I don't know how to feel about this, I am not going to rush to judgement until I can actually play the DLC. Hopefully this will clear up some of the answers but at this point I don't know if this will make people happy; and honestly I don't know if BioWare could do anything to appease some people at this point. Is this DLC what you wanted or is this not enough content to fix the issues with the ending?
