Mass Effect 5 Wishlist: 10 Things Fans NEED To See

10. No Driving

Walking around the desert is no substitute for a story.

Driving in Andromeda was a marked improvement on the janky performance of the Mako in the first game, but the ability to jet straight to your location in 2 & 3 was infinitely better.

Yes, the narrative arc in Andromeda demanded exploring new territory to some degree, but the driving was still ridiculously frustrating with quest points spread far too far out.

The extra time spent designing the wider world didn’t really make it any more immersive, and it meant corners were cut on the buildings themselves. Interiors were re-skinned versions of each other, being bland and not particularly memorable. More identity given to these kinds of areas would definitely improve gameplay, even if it meant losing wider terrains.

Simply put: It’s nobody’s favourite part of the games, and plenty of players’ least favourite. It just seems like a no brainer to cut, especially considering the extra work required in designing the vehicle, terrain and driving mechanics.
