Konami Offering Free Stuff To Metal Gear Solid Online PC Players

Basically a "please forgive us".

After a beta testing period that was, ironically, rougher than sitting in a cardboard box for several hours, Konami has finally announced that Metal Gear Solid Online (MGO) is available on PC. The beta was only launched on January 13th and was temporarily disabled just a day later, after some players found a loophole giving them payable in-game credits for free. PC gamers have been frustrated at the lack of an online mode since the release of Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain in September of last year, while console players were allowed access to the 16-player mode just a month after release. Online Community Manager Robert Peeler confirmed the news on Steam saying: "After some initial hiccups we€™re going forward, guns at the ready." Konami have attempted to smooth out these 'hiccups' by giving players 3000 GEAR POINTS free if they play between now and the 26th of January and promise to continue "Integrating new updates to the game to improve the experience and add content." A four month wait, a beta that allowed players to get in-game credits for free, and some damning feedback from players? Sounds more like a trouser hiccup with an unfortunate follow through to me.
