8. Sea of Thieves' Free PVP DLC Launches Early 2019

Sea of Thieves is getting a standalone PVP mode called The Arena, Rare confirmed during X018. The free DLC will release early next year and reportedly transposes the game's core gameplay loop into a more intimate setting where you'll encounter other players with a far greater frequency.

In addition to the expected pirate combat and treasure hunting shenanigans, The Arena will also include a number of new locales.

Considering that one of the most pervasive criticisms of the game has been the clunkiness of interacting with other players, this should provide a solid incentive for fans and critics alike to dive back in, especially with its availability on Xbox Game Pass.
