12. Sub-Zero's Betrayal

Sub-Zero may be a hothead (ironically), but the Lin Kuei Grandmaster is still one of the good guys, since he does all he can to help Liu Kang bring peace to the realms.

But throughout his mission, Sub-Zero's dark side becomes more apparent. He refuses to accept Smoke as his brother, and he constantly chastises Scorpion for defending their weak-willed father. And when Shang Tsung promises to strengthen the Lin Kuei, Sub-Zero joins the sinister sorcerer in a heartbeat, ditching his siblings.

Even though Sub-Zero has always been cold (sorry, couldn't help myself), we've never seen the cryomancer behave so callously before. Since Sub-Zero and Scorpion finally put an end to their rivalry in MKX, it was a pity to see the two ninjas become sworn enemies again.
