Mortal Kombat 11: 10 Guest Characters Fans Demand
10. The Babadook
It’s maybe a little bit too recent for it to be considered a classic horror movie, but The Babadook has earned a cult following since its release in 2014. Netherrealm have opted for more iconic characters in the past, but there’s nothing to stop them switching things up this time around.
The Babadook is rarely seen in his own movie, with the filmmakers employing a Lord Of The Flies style fear of the unknown throughout. However, in the kid’s creepy charcoal drawings, he’s a gothic nightmare. That top hat and those long black claws matched with his truly horrific smile would be a twisted kind of beautiful with Mortal Kombat’s graphics. What would even come out when he’s inevitably ripped open? Soot? Blood? Maybe we’ll find out soon.
One of The Babadook’s main strengths though is its subtlety, symbolism and metaphorical nature. There’s not really much room for that in Mortal Kombat’s no holds barred bloodbath.
With that in mind, while it would certainly be a quirky pick, it may prove to be nothing more than a pipe dream for his committed fans. Guess we’ll never solve that blood or soot dilemma.
