Mortal Kombat 11 DLC: 10 Old-School Characters We Want To See
Onaga, the DRAGON GOD. Why has this not happened?!
Mortal Kombat has always had a revolving door roster, all the way back to its earliest inceptions. Palette-swap ninjas, almost identical scantily clad female clones and everything in between have popped up at some point.
But more than just generic swaps, we've also had many fleshed out characters; from dragon kings to drunkards, slabs of meat to meta-fighters like a man in a mocap suit. Even guest appearances from horror movie staples like Freddy Kreuger, Leatherface and Jason Vorhees have made cameo appearances.
We already know Shao Kahn has made his return, with Shang Tsung turning up at some point. But, as is always the way with rumours and speculation, we could be looking at a lot more. If the internet is anything to go by, we'll be looking at a Terminator and the Joker turning up, or Sindel and Fujin making a return.
This list, however, isn't speculating. Instead, it's a look back at some of the older games and fighters across MK history, as many are overdue a return.
10. Mokap
Just putting this one in here to inject some levity before the serious throwbacks.
But look at him, he's just so doofy it would be rude not to give him an honourable mention. Mokap made his first appearance in MK Deadly Alliance as a nod to the earlier developmental nature of Mortal Kombat: using motion capture of real actors to portray many of the fighters.
Added late in the development cycle, Mokap wasn't given features that most fighters had, namely a fatality. As such, Mokap is always seen as a bogus, joke character, much like Gon in Tekken history. But what is Mortal Kombat without poking some fun at itself?
Besides a brief nod on one of Cassie Cage's intros as a coffee emporium, nothing else is made mention of the meta-fighter. Maybe time travel might be affecting his customer base, and he steps in to sort out the shenanigans?
Literally anything is possible at this point.
