Mortal Kombat 12: 10 Lost Characters NetherRealm MUST Include

10. Rain

The purple ninja made his first appearance in Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 and has had only a couple of playable appearances since. However, despite his spotty attendance record, Rain has gained a cult following of hardcore fans.

His appearance was highly requested in 2011's Mortal Kombat reboot and his cameo in Mortal Kombat X's story mode was met with criticism as he was never added to the game as a playable character.

Rain's story is one of arrogance and betrayal. As the exiled son of the realm of Edenia's godly protector, Rain joined with the forces of Shao Kahn and betrayed his realm. Rain's inclusion into Mortal Kombat 12 would provide the game the opportunity to explore the Edenian conflict in much more detail than we have previously seen.

Rain's gameplay has always been very unique, and his limited appearances leave a lot of room for NetherRealm to get really creative, especially with how the series has evolved. Rain will always have his staple moves like trapping his opponent in a bubble, or kicking them from one side of the screen to the other, but for a demi-god with water manipulation, it seems like NetherRealm has only scratched the surface.
