Mortal Kombat X: 10 Most Underpowered Characters That Need Upgrading

6. Kitana (All Variations)

My god Kitana, what did they do to make you suck so much in Mortal Kombat X? At least every other fighter on this list has, at worst, one single variant that is still viable for top-tier play. But you? Not so much. Royal Storm, Assassin or Mournful - it doesn't matter which one you pick if you're a Kitana enthusiast, you've a lot of work ahead of you to make a victory happen. First of all, Mournful isn't even a Kitana variation - it's Jade's move set spliced with some of Kitana's basic attacks which doesn't mesh even remotely well. Then there's Assassin, an attempt to give Kitana players an offensive repertoire of attacks that revolves around parrying her opponent for a follow-up combo. Said parry however, is terrible, and requires the reflexes of a cat to be timed effectively. Royal Storm is the classic, defensive Kitana that everyone knows and loves, but her attacks - even when charged with the Super Meter - are completely safe on block, and if timed incorrectly - set her up for a potentially devastating retaliatory combo. The character is in desperate need of a total overhaul - no quick fix is going to save this Princess.
