Why it makes sense:

It's hard to believe why the Cavs would agree to such a horrific trade, but if the NBA 2K trade machine approves, you need to jump on it ASAP. In reality, if approved, this one would be easily among the worst trades in NBA history.

As for the Knicks, they get back two decent backup players, who they've traded to the Cavs two and a half years ago, and make enough cap space to sign a superstar in free agency. When it comes to this season, it's just better to wait it out, maybe even try to keep Carmelo Anthony happy and re-sign him to a more team-friendly deal.
