Why:

The Clippers should be commended for shedding most of their problematic contracts over the past few seasons, but Gallinari's remains. Nothing more than an anchor to future success, he should be dealt right away, with those 76ers trade the most enticing.

The defence-focused Covington is a radically different player to Gallinari, but comes in on favourable terms, and his presence on the roster won't hinder the Clippers' ability to acquire two max-level players in 2019.
