The official Baldur's Gate website BaldursGate.com has been updated with new graphics and some familiar music as well, hinting at the revival of a much beloved franchise. According to the website GameBanshee.com the people behind the new website design is Beamdog, a studio that was created by Trent Oster, a former Bioware veteran. Beamdog is most famous for helping companies develop mobile HD ports of games; however Beamdog did state that this Baldur's Gate project has nothing to do with the release of Baldur's Gate 2 on Steam:
"We're not related to the Steam complete edition, I can tell you that much. Other than that, we're hoping to announce something soon."
In addition, it was also found there is a message embedded in the websites source code that hints that the new Baldur's Gate game could be using some form of the Infinity Engine:

However, as of right now we don't know if this game will be a HD port of previous Baldur's Gate games onto iOS systems or if this is an entirely new game. It could also be a full on HD re-release of the previous games as well which seems to be all the rage right now. Unfortunately, I don't think Beamdog is a large enough studio to tackle a full on new triple A RPG to a beloved franchise; so my guess is that it will either be a re-release of Baldur's Gate in HD or an HD port onto iOS systems.
