After a few weeks of uncertainty, Sony and Naughty Dog have revealed that The Last of Us Part 2 has a new release date. Originally set to launch May 29, the long-anticipated sequel will now be coming on June 19. As a result, Ghost of Tsushima, which was originally set to launch at the end of June, has been pushed back a couple of weeks to July 17.

Writing on the Playstation Blog, boss of Sony's Worldwide Studios, Hermen Hulst, stated:

"I want to personally congratulate and thank both the teams at Naughty Dog and Sucker Punch Productions on their achievements, as we know it’s not an easy feat to reach the finish line under these circumstances. Both teams have worked hard to deliver world-class experiences, and we can’t wait to see what you think of them when they release in just a few short months."

The news follows a huge leak of The Last of Us 2 spoilers on Sunday night, allegedly from a disgruntled Naughty Dog employee. Whether the new dates are related to those actions are unknown, but Naughty Dog commented on how disappointing it's been for both fans and the developers to see, urging people not to deliberately share what they've seen or heard.
