The Mass Effect series started life as a Microsoft exclusive, though it soon made its way onto Sony's consoles. Neither of the first two instalments made it to the Wii U, though Mass Effect 3 finally appeared months after everyone had already completed it on the other two consoles. That's simply not good enough from Nintendo, and any hopes of snaring new hardcore fans depend on Nintendo's ability to keep pace with the other two giants. Mass Effect 4 is pencilled in for Christmas 2016, if the NX is released around the same time, ME4 being a launch title could be an enormous boost.
