I have to say, it's not every day you get not just one, but two stellar video game announcements. First Red Dead, then the Switch. So yeah, this week was pretty fantastic for gaming.

Even better is that it looks as though the Switch is finally addressing the myriad of issues that have afflicted the Wii consoles since their release, in that they'll finally, finally, be getting substantial third party support.

We can see that with the Switch, as not only did its announcement come with franchise staples like Mario and Link, but with key triple-A releases like Skyrim and NBA 2K.

But what else do we know is in store for Nintendo's latest flagship console? A whole lot it seems, and I must say, the library's looking mighty impressive. Take a look.

11. RISE: Race The Future

Shown off briefly at E3 to a furore of media speculation due to its namedropping of the NX, we know for sure that Rise: Race The Future will be heading to the Switch, more than likely as a launch title, given its release on other platforms this winter.

As a racing game, its premise is fairly simple, except there's a twist in that players will be cruising around in near-future automobiles, rather than the usual licensed vehicles games that Forza and Gran Turismo tend to sport.

Not much else is known about the project, and the studio has remained relatively quiet on social media for a few months now, but here's hoping some more information is forthcoming in the weeks and months ahead.
