Overwatch: Ranking Every Seasonal Event From Worst To Best

6. Anniversary

The event that celebrated the anniversary of Overwatch's release was also, in all honesty, the most underwhelming.

Anniversary did have some great new skins, most notably cruiser D.Va, graffiti Tracer, and oasis Symmetra. However, the vast majority of them were good, just not great and a select few, such as cyborg Soldier: 76 and dune buggy Bastion were just flat out disappointing (even if the dance emotes were good fun).

Speaking of disappointing, Anniversary was also the first event not to feature a special, thematic game mode to go along with the new loot. It did serve as a means for new game modes to be introduced and for what it's worth, lockout elimination and limited duel were pretty fun. But they also did get old rather fast, the new maps were fine (but nothing special), and to make room for the latter, the much more fun random duel was removed indefinitely.

All things considered, Anniversary felt more like a glorified title update than it did like an event and to be fair, it succeeded on that front. Unfortunately, it simply lacked the aspects that would have made it feel truly special.
