You may be wrapped up in following your smartphone all over the place in search of battling creatures in Pokémon GO, but don't forget there's a new entry in the main series of Pokémon games coming later this year, too.

Amidst all of the excitement around the Pokémon Company's smash-hit mobile game, many will have missed out on the latest news about the seventh generation games. News has been arriving regularly surrounding Pokémon Sun & Moon, however, and so a healthy catch-up session is definitely in order.

10. Pokémon Bank Compatibility Has Been Confirmed

Cloud storage has become somewhat of a godsend for people in today's society. For all of the - let's call them -"controversies" around leaked data, cloud-based storage has proved to be a massive hit with people from all walks of life. And, in early 2014, it seems even the famous Bill's PC was upgraded to benefit from this phenomenon.

When Pokémon Bank completed its worldwide launch in February 2014, players of compatible games were able to store up to 3,000 Pokémon in the online storage facility; no more purging the PC boxes when your collection grew too large.

Despite a few server issues in its early days, Pokémon Bank is still in use and its compatibility with Pokémon Sun & Moon has been confirmed already. Perhaps most exciting of all, however, is the news that virtual console games like Pokémon Red, Blue or Yellow will be connectible with the new generation through this facility.

So, if you were wondering whether you'd be able to get your hands on the likes of Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle in the new games, then wonder no more!
