Project Draco was first shown to the world during the 2010 Tokyo Games Show. Since then info on the game has been scarce. However now we finally know that the game has been given the official title of Crimson Dragon. More details were released during an evening held in Akihabara to celebrate ten years of Xbox, where a demo of the game was available to play. This kinect based on rails shooter is being directed by Yukio Futatsugi, the man behind the famous Panzer Dragoon series. Famitsu offered up some impressions, likening the controls to that of Child Of Eden. Both hands are used to attack. The left hand controls weak homing attacks that can target multiple enemies where as the players right hand controls more powerful single shot attakcs. This all ties into a spirit gauge which depletes as attacks are fired but recharges over time, making the player think more tactically. Special attacks also feature at certain points along the gauge.

It's no bad thing if gameplay wise Crimson Dragon is similar to Child Of Eden. While on rails shooters can often be derided for stale unimaginative gameplay, Child Of Eden was a success regardless. With a man like Futatsugi at the helm of this beautiful looking game I think we can look forward to a title with both style and substance.
