After months of waiting, Sony finally peeled back the curtain on the PlayStation 5 yesterday. Included within the announcement were a bevy of first looks at upcoming first and third-party titles that reiterated PlayStation's focus on games first and foremost.

There was little in the way of detail surrounding the actual PS5 technical capabilities, but for the most part, fans left the event buzzing with the new announcements, which included detailed looks at Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Resident Evil 8: Village, and Horizon Forbidden West.

It was near enough a home-run, but judging from the response on social media, a love or hate narrative is beginning to emerge surrounding the design of the PS5 itself. To some, it's this wild, futuristic slice of hardware that departs from the 'box-type' consoles we've seen so much of lately, while to others, it looks... sort of like... a modem...

Now obviously the design of the console isn't make or break, but it's hard to think of one that's divided opinion as much as this has. Personally? I'm kind of here for it. Sure, it looks like someone's taken a pair of clippers to an Xbox 360 and thrown some LEDs in to make it all fancy, but at least you can't say it looks boring!
