Metacritic Score: 76-80 The Verdict: One of the most charming and imaginative platformers in years, Unravel is the brainchild of developer Coldwood Interactive, who have created a wonderful protagonist in Yarny for this physics-driven adventure title. Despite looking like it's aimed at the very youngest children, there's a solid level of challenge to Unravel, such that even skilled platformer vets might take 6 or 7 hours to power through the 11 levels, likely getting more than a little flummoxed by a couple of tough portions. That said, it always feels fair and most of the solutions will emerge organically while experimenting with the string of yarn that Yarny himself unspools from. The environments are gorgeously rendered, the musical score is amazing, and the game is full to the brim with heart. It is everything that the majority of games published by EA are not. What a revelation.
