44. Marowak
Back at the 'dead mother with the baby wearing the skull' subplot here, and it really is some compelling storytelling. The episode of Pokémon Origins that focuses on it was, in particular, a delight.
43. Chansey
Chansey is boss. Get over yourself and accept that having that much HP and still knowing a recovery move like Softboiled is an absolutely incredible game dynamic. Also possibly the hardest thing to catch in Gen 1.
42. Alakazam
Yeah I'm still not having the spoons or the 'tache but not even I can dispute how powerful a Psychic type this is. It's Special Attack and Speed make it one of the best offensive Pokémon in the game.
41. Magneton
Let's just look, for a moment, and acknowledge that Nintendo's solution to evolving Magnemite was to just stick three of them together. Forget how good its moves and stats are and just allow yourself a small chuckle at that fact. Well played, nerds.
