Ranking All Of Metal Gear Solid's Boss Battles From Worst To Best

24. Volgin (MGS 3)

It's finally time for Snake to take on the giant electrical dude known as Volgin, and though it's kinda anti-climactic considering it's the last face-to-face engagement you have with him, it's still a solidly entertaining boss fight. There's not much more to this than just unloading every bullet in your inventory and avoiding his widely-telegraphed electrical attacks (unless you want to take down his stamina, which just requires CQC and tranqing instead), with much of the tension deriving from the 5-minute time limit the battle has. It's fun to see Ocelot and Volgin arguing mid-battle, but like the Snake/Liquid fight atop Metal Gear REX, it's just a little too simplistic and straightforward for the final mano-y-mano showdown between the hero and the antagonist (excluding The Boss, because, you know). Granted, both had extra fights afterwards, but there's nothing quite like a one-on-one, close quarters punch-up.
