Ranking All Of Metal Gear Solid's Boss Battles From Worst To Best

14. Sniper Wolf - Snowfield (MGS)

In the later stages of the game, Snake will end up on a snowfield for one of the most epic boss fights in the series, a sniper battle against Sniper Wolf, and this time, there's no infuriating backtracking involved. It's a good ol' fashioned sniper duel if you fancy a challenge, or Wolf can be beaten far more easily with the use of the Nikita launcher from a vantage point where she can't even see you, but either way, it's a tense standoff with a brilliantly atmospheric setting. Post-defeat, Wolf also gets one of the best boss send-offs in the series, even if it was unquestionably weird as hell that Otacon had the hots for her. Though not a hugely important boss fight in terms of the overall plot, Wolf's death does have minor reverberations throughout later games in the series, and of course, she makes a spiritual return to the series in MGS 4 as Crying Wolf.
