Ranking EVERY Main Resident Evil From Worst To Best
14. Resident Evil 6
It is hard to see such a beloved franchise sink so low, and when it comes to the mainline series of games, it doesn't really get worse than Resident Evil 6.
The third in a line of increasing action-focused titles, RE6 is arguably the most ambitious in franchise history, with six protagonists across three interweaving campaigns, and if that wasn't enough - there was a secret fourth staring the legendary Ada Wong.
That being said, even though there was a breadth of content here, it became clear that with each playthrough the experiences became diluted a tedious. Players were tasked with fighting similar waves of enemies in slightly different situations, over and over (and over) again.
Each of the three stories has a different twist, with Leon's trying to harken back to the "good old days" of survival horror, Chris's being extremely action-orientated to a point where the series was almost unrecognisable, and finally... Jack's campaign. This was Capcom trying to recreate lightning in a bottle with a new Nemesis, but Ustanak was a poor stand-in, to say the least.
Resident Evil 6 was doing far too much, and ended up a clusterf**k of an initially neat concept.
