We're just over half a year into the 9th generation, and what a spectacularly strange console cycle it's been so far.

Where Xbox are content to focus entirely on Game Pass, offering insane value for money when it comes to multiple generations of titles running better than ever on Series S or X, Sony have tried to juggle multiple approaches at the same time.

What started as CEO Jim Ryan saying the company "believe in generations" and would be supporting PS5 exclusives going forward, has turned into God of War, Horizon Forbidden West, Gran Turismo and Kena: Bridge of Spirits all coming to PS4.

All the same, we've had many awesome PS5 games, from Ratchet & Clank to Returnal, Final Fantasy VII Integrade to Demon's Souls.

It's made for a generation and company approach that's notably scattered, but there ARE great games at the heart of these discussions.

Now, to establish some rules in this topsy-turvy notion of what a "PS5 game" even is, I'm going to include titles that are either console exclusive, or where the PS5 is the dominant platform across development.
