Red Dead Redemption 2: 10 Mind-Blowing Details You Totally Missed
Over two years on from Rockstar's last big release and fans are still finding hidden stories.
Rockstar's universally loved Red Dead Redemption 2 remains one of the most detailed RPGs of its time.
Despite releasing over two years ago, devoted players are still finding interesting little secrets tucked away throughout the main campaign. Whether it's interesting landmarks, unique encounters, or even alternate lines of dialogue, there are still plenty of hidden nuggets to uncover.
Recently, Red Dead Redemption 2 has received a surge of new players on PC thanks to the Steam release and its ever-growing popularity with the modding community. This has led to some incredible finds in the game's code and revealed hidden connections that may have been otherwise lost forever.
The details that Rockstar painstakingly placed in the game range from the insanely minute to the outright bizarre. Rockstar games have always had a flair for the supernatural and weird and RDR2 is no exception.
It is clear that a lot of care went into crafting these rare details and that's even more impressive given that most players may have never encountered them. This list compiles some of the game's rarest and spookiest finds found in both the main story and the epilogue that, chances are, most never encountered.
For those that have not completed RDR2 beware of minor spoilers to several side stories and characters.
10. The Buried Ice Skater
Themes of death and the afterlife play a major role throughout both Red Dead Redemption games.
It comes as no surprise then that many of the game's Easter eggs and hidden secrets relate to a bygone era. In a reflection of the story's own themes of the wild west coming to an end, no profession seems safe given what happened to an ice skater, Felix Hawley.
Just by Barrow Lagoon, one of Ambarino's many iced-over lakes, lies a defaced grave for Hawley. Despite his fame and credit of being a "hero", his body was dug up and had the words "NO ICE IN HELL" painted on the gravestone.
Hawley had retired a decade before his death due to a horrific accident resulting in the loss of one of his legs. Could the defiling have been from a jealous rival? Maybe, or perhaps there was something more sinister behind Hawley's untimely retirement...
