14. Purchase Stirrups To Make Any Horse Go Faster

Unless you purchased one of the many "Ultimate" or other expansive editions of Red Dead, the starting few chapters only give you horses that are 3-5 "pips" of speed.

Regardless, when you finally get to a stable in Chapter 2, make a beeline for the stirrups and spend your first lump of cash on the most expensive ones.

Weirdly, outside of the basic horse "Care Package" you can pay for (that also times out after a few days), this is the only way to permanently upgrade your steed's speed.
