14. It's A Prequel

Although it hasn't been officially confirmed yet, fans and critics alike are 99.9% certain that the next Red Dead is going to be a prequel set before the events of the first RDR.

Not only would it make sense after the original protagonist John Marston was gunned down at the end of the first game (and nobody wants a sequel that makes his son Jack the main protagonist), but the other characters revealed so far seem to make up the rest of John's old outlaw gang.

So it looks like Rockstar's upcoming entry in the franchise is going to be focused on John's years as a ruthless outlaw before he decided to turn his life around at the start of the first game, chronicling the events that eventually convinced him to switch sides.
