4. Your Horse Has A "Bond" Over Time

In the first Red Dead, losing a horse was no big deal. Yes, you could find and unlock more specifically fancy-looking ones, but if your horse died, you just got another.

Alongside the idea of prioritising maintenance of your selected hat, is a bond level with your horse.

It's unclear whether this is something that gets surfaced or is in any way visible, but like Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the more you spend time around your horse and pet it, the more it'll be able to help you out in combat.

This is all meant to get you forming a solid, interdependent relationship with your steed, as if it dies, all that progress gets reset.
