Resident Evil 7: 10 Big Rumours That Would Save The Franchise

3. Zombies

Once a hallmark of the series, zombies were in danger of dying out in Resident evil until recently. The Ganados, Majinis and J€™avo have all become the primary enemies in the series, but none of them have the classic and enduring appeal of something as beautifully old-fashioned as zombies. Capcom showed that they hadn€™t forgotten about the slow-moving brain munchers when they included them in Leon€™s campaign in Resident Evil 6 and if the next instalment is to truly evoke memories of earlier games, they€™ll surely have to play an even bigger part. Even beyond appealing to core fans, zombies of course also have broader appeal outside of the mythology of the series. The word and implications have a hell of a lot more meaning that Ganados, that's for sure. The series has also shown a willingness to up the ante when it comes to enemy mutations, but more and more tentacles do start to lose their impact after a while. If the series lets zombies become the main enemy again, then the more outlandish antagonists will start to pack more of a punch.
