4. The Hidden Stab Attack

The game does tell you during a certain boss fight that you can do a thrust attack with the chainsaw, but it's actually possible with the small folding knife, too.

Simply hold L1 to block with the blade and hit R2 to do a straight thrust attack.

This covers more distance than just the regular swing, and is perfect for dealing with Marguerite's bugs once they start hovering in mid-air, or creating some distance between those things located on the lower floors...
