It's no easy feat for a franchise to stick around over a quarter of a century, but yet again, with the latest instalment of Resident Evil, Capcom has proved they are the kings of survival horror.

After the lean Resident Evil 3 Remake, all eyes were on Village to prove that Capcom still had it in them to put out a substantial game. Jill’s reimagined adventure was over far too soon, but thankfully Ethan’s return after four long years will satisfy all looking for a meatier package.

Since they first debuted, new vampiric antagonists Lady Dimitrescu and her daughters have taken the internet by storm. Dominating the conversation around the eighth major title in the Resident Evil franchise, the so-called "Tall Vampire Lady" is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to RE8: Village.

So with that and all the memes out of the way, how does Resident Evil 8 hold up, and is it what survival horror fans are looking for?
