RESISTANCE 3 Could Be The Last In The Series

Insomniac Games might be ready to move on from the franchise and it's not certain they will make a fourth.

Resistance 3 now only a couple weeks away, there are questions mounting as to the future of the franchise. Apparently Insomniac might be ready to move on from the franchise and do something else. In an interview with Marcus Smith, Resistance 3's creative director states:

"I loved the Spyro the Dragon series when did that, it was healthy for to move on that's what we're seeing here with Resistance. We've done Resistance 3 and we're really into it and proud of it, but we're not currently slated to do a Resistance 4."
It looks like Insomniac is trying to distance themselves from the Resistance franchise and move on to a new IP, while at the same time they are still leaving the door open for another developer to take the reins and make Resistance 4.
"After being further prodded about outright handing the Resistance series over to another developer, Marcus Smith says that he can definitely see that."
Insomniac Games is already working on a new multiplatform game called Overstrike and Rachet and Clank All 4 One, so their plate is full. But it would be crazy to think if Resistance 3 sells well we won't see another Resistance game, we may just be getting it from a different developer. Resistance 3 Release Date: US September 6, EU September 9
