The elder statesmen of Rock 'n' Roll have had a dalliance with the Rock Band series in the past, with Gimme Shelter appearing on the very first title. However, that early start was never followed up on and the band was missing from the main track lists and DLC for the original game's follow-ups. With Rock Band 4 on its way, the time is ripe for them to make their triumphant return to the series and allow Harmonix to take a more extensive stab at bring their classics to the plastic instrument playing public. A dedicated track pack is probably the way forward for the Stones, much in the same vein as the live AC/DC track pack that was released back when the series was at its peak in popularity. Of course, offering this set as a downloadable rather than a standalone release would be preferable to most gamers.
