Rumour: Harmonix Working on New Game

Harmonix job listings include a music based game that includes combat and player exploration.

A new job posting has surfaced on Harmonix's main website that indicates they may be working on a next-generation title. Here is what is described in the official job listing:
"work closely with our world-class artists to bring their work to life on brand new IP and next-generation consoles."
Harmonix had basically been dead since the collapse of the music game industry, the company was literally sold for $50 US and has done nothing recently. One of the other job listings on the site included "unique motion-gaming IP" with combat encounters and player exploration. In other words, it sounds like Harmonix is creating a next generation music based combat RPG that may include a story. All I have to say is WOW, I really didn't see this coming. I am sure they are working on some form of a generic music game for the next generation of systems but to think that they might be working on a AAA music based RPG of sorts is kind of mind blowing. It is good to see Harmonix trying new things, especially considering that the music game genre is basically dead, except for things like Rocksmith that actually try and teach you how to play instruments. So I guess Harmonix has no choice but to go in a new direction; in all honesty I am curious to see what they can do outside of the Rock Band franchise.
