Silent Hills Saved By Microsoft As Xbox One Exclusive
Holy &*@^%...
Rooster Teeth source, Silent Hills (the reboot of the iconic franchise helmed by Metal Gear Solid's Hideo Kojima and silver screen powerhouse director Guillermo del Toro, and starring The Walking Dead's Norman Reedus) has not only been saved by Microsoft, but will be unveiled at E3 in June. Let's face facts here, Microsoft desperately need a big 'for the gamers'-style win after the last couple of years that've been a "will they, won't they" mess in regards to supporting the Kinect, and considering the huge outpour from fans when Konami shut the project down, this could be exactly what's needed to 'save' the console and please tens of thousands of gamers in the process. Right now the rumour goes that Microsoft are trying in vein to put up the appropriate cash to Konami, who if scuttlebutt around their own stature are to be believed, are gearing up to leave the gaming industry anyway. They're reportedly asking for billions of dollars, which is an extortionate amount for one franchise. However, considering the impact it'll have for Microsoft's reputation, the Xbox One's first-party lineup and the gaming industry in general (think 'Hugely Renowned Company Puts Fans First'-style headlines), there are too many things in the Big Win column for this not to bear some fruit. Even Norman Reedus himself is getting in on the hype, helping to fan the flames and get the project back off the ground. Plus, if the 80% completion stat is true, Silent Hills was almost done before everything went dark.
In the gaming industry, it's very rare something with so much hype and potential doesn't get capitalised on eventually, and if rumours are to be believed from an anonymous Look to E3 for the official announcement if the journalists of the world don't get there first, and read up on the ongoing debacle between Konami and Silent Hills/Metal Gear Solid-creative director Hideo Kojima over here. These Hills are no longer silent - About http://t.co/QyJVhsumk6
