Smash Bros Ultimate: 10 Characters Who Could Be The Final DLC

10. Captain Toad

Toad seems to be in a strange place right now. He’s been an important part of the Mario franchise for some time, and has a memorable running gag with his distaste for and disappointment with meeting Luigi whenever their paths cross.

He also had himself a spin off game recently: Captain Toad’s Treasure Tracker. The puzzler was neat, wholesome fun, with a tone in line with, say, Yoshi’s Crafted World.

Despite this though, it seems like his stock is falling. Treasure Tracker never got much traction, he’s tucked away in far corners of Odyssey to encourage you to explore, and he’s left on the sidelines in Mario Party.

Worse than the sidelines, actually, the Mario gang have him and his people organise the party, but they never get to join in on the games.

Then he’s in Smash... as a bit part player in one of Peach’s moves.

This Toad injustice simply has to end. He’s a fun, vibrant, often sassy character who deserves much more than being relegated to a glorified extra.

Jeez, he’s treated like a Goomba these days. Except Goomba is actually playable in Mario Party. Poor Toad.
