As the trailer reaches what we could charitably describe as its apex, a tag line flashes up telling us that, "Every hero has a genesis." It's a rather clumsy phrase, and the sort of language a conceited teen might consider 'good writing', but there's a very specific - and to older Sonic fans, patently obvious - reason for this particular verbiage.

And it's not Biblical.

It might make European fans cringe, but the original Sonic the Hedgehog game released on a console which was known in North America as the SEGA Genesis. That's pretty much the entire story behind this shoehorned pun.
