10. Screwball

In a game that had so many different challenges, random encounters and mini-games, the last thing it needed was to add more. Neither did the game need to include one of the most annoying characters in recent Marvel history. Yet unfortunately, that is exactly what we got when Insomniac threw Screwball into the mix.

Not only is the character incredibly irritating throughout her time in the game, she isn’t even a beloved character in the source material. Designed as a parody of internet celebrities, her over-the-top personality traits have been an unwelcome addition to Spidey’s rogue’s gallery.

The character features heavily in the City Never Sleeps DLC as well as the main storyline, yet her inclusion adds very little to the experience. Many of the challenges set by Screwball are similar, if not the same as other side missions and it’s not as if her antics are crucial to the storyline.

With any luck, the small-time villain won’t make a return in the next game. Let’s just hope they don’t replace her with another, equally annoying character like Boomerang or Gwenpool instead.
