Spider-Man PS4: 10 Ways It Blows Every Other Spidey Game Out The Water

2. Web-Swinging

Insomniac Games could have cut out the story, side quests, and collectables of Spider-Man, and sold the open-world web-slinging as a standalone product for £20 and it would have been well worth it. That's how fu$*ing good the swinging is.

It really can't be overstated just how good the traversal is. There was little doubt that Insomniac Games, the maker of Sunset Overdrive, Ratchet & Clank, and Resistance, could make Spider-Man fun to play, but boy, did it make something special. Fast travel is available in the game but it isn't an option anyone wants to use because slinging between the streets of New York is truly unparalleled in terms of fun.

The standard slinging is incredible but Insomniac took things further and added in running along buildings, swinging around corners, pulling yourself towards perches, slingshotting off of vantage points, performing twists in mid-air, and diving feet-first through construction pipes, all while never touching the ground. It's ridiulously slick, smooth, and intuitive.

No other video game, let alone a Spider-Man one, has ever felt this good to traverse.
