Spider-Man PS4: 5 Things It Did Better Than The Arkham Series (And 5 Things It Did Worse)

2. Suits

Both Spider-Man and Batman have years of content to take outfits from. First off let’s look at the original suits created for the games and specifically the ones in the Arkham Series.

In Arkham Asylum, Rocksteady took influence from legendary comic books, like The Long Halloween for instance, with long pointy ears, a grey suit and blue cowl. This suit was slightly tweaked in Arkham City and then Arkham Knight, in which his suit was upgraded to a more armoured affair. Batman’s suit in Arkham Origins was again more of an armoured and tactical approach, inspired by The Dark Knight Trilogy.

The Arkham games boast of over 30 additional suits across the series including Azrael-Batman, 1960s Adam West and Batman Beyond, to name a few.

The suit created for Spider-Man is an instant classic. It retains the iconic imagery of Spider-Man but also has its own twist with the white motifs.

Unlockable suits are easy to come by, with even more included as free and paid DLC. Some of these suits are deep cut references like Bag-Man, whereas some are cult favourites like the Sam Raimi movie suit. Spider-Man has an impressive collection of playable suits for its first entry in the series and it is a very close call to choose between it and the Arkham Series.

It will be exciting to see what suits are included in Spider-Man: Miles Morales, but for now, Batman still takes the crown for suits.
