4. The Sinister Six! The Amazing Spider-Man Annual #1

The Sinister Six are the perfect antagonists to include in a game, not just because they provide a logical if not convenient explanation for why so many villains are popping up with the unabashed frequency of a Goomba, but also because the lineup is almost always comprised of some spectacular enemies.

You've got Doc Ock, you've got Kraven, you've got Vulture, and then there's Electro, Mysterio, and Sandman - and that's just the first roster. The story of their first appearance is fairly self-explanatory too: villains get sick of Spider-Man, decide to team up to take him down. Simple, yes?

Obviously a later incarnation of the team would be more appropriate for this more seasoned Spider-Man, but it's always a good idea to pay attention to the classics before moving ahead with something new.
