Spike VGX Awards: 5 Reasons It Was An Embarrassing Celebration Of 2013 Games

3. Why Are There STILL Celebrities?

Let me get something critical out of the way; I am not referring to Camilla Luddington or the creators of South Park (Trey Parker and Matt Stone). As mentioned in my introduction, if a celebrity has a legitimate reason to appear €“ whether it€™s because they have contributed to a game or are a true gamer - then everyone should be fine with it. This point is referring to a group of clowns that kept getting screen time to promote the Grand Theft Auto V mini-concert that would be airing after the show. Some internet research tells me that they are known as the Loiter Squad and have a sketch comedy show on Adult Swim, but their presence at the Spike VGX tells me that any attempt made at comedy should result in a stoning. Forget the fact that they couldn€™t get anyone to let out a chuckle or go along with their antics, half of the time it appeared as if they couldn€™t read the teleprompter. Every line they juggled back and forth between each other was hilariously stilted with multiple pauses mid-sentence. The icing on the cake was that they didn€™t know a darn thing about gaming. Seriously, we don€™t need these people wasting valuable time.
