I've not played The Old Republic but the reviews have been mixed and the fact that it's now free to play is kind of an indicator that it wasn't the smash hit Lucasarts were hoping for. But the really disappointing thing is that The Old Republic was developed instead of Knights Of The Old Republic 3. Knights Of The Old Republic was a small masterpiece and, despite it being incomplete, its sequel held up very well (By the way, if Disney could see their way to releasing the deleted content for free like Obsidian planned, I'd be very appreciative). KOTOR and KOTOR 2 were everything we could ever want from a Star Wars game. An engaging story, great characters, a character you could make your own, and an immensely long runtime (for lack of a better word). We bought them, played them, and loved them because they were brilliantly crafted. There was no reason to target specific demographics when marketing them because they'd sell a lot of copies anyway. They were just that good. And since BioWare worked on the original KOTOR, a belated threequel or any other kind of Star Wars RPG is a no-brainer.
