Do whatever you want with this game in terms of genre, but set it in this time period. There is so much potential for a Mandalorian Wars game since it's such an immense conflict with massive repurcussions across the Star Wars universe. The Clone Wars pale in comparison to it. For those who are unfamiliar with the Mandalorian Wars: 4000 years before the Original Trilogy, a race of feared warriors with an innate need to fight and conquer attacks the Republic. The Republic fights back but doesn't stand a chance and the Jedi refuse to get involved. A young Jedi named Revan goes rogue and starts recruiting Jedi to aid the Republic, an act which splits the Jedi Order and causes a civil war within it while Revan falls to the Dark Side and becomes a Sith Lord. There's a lot of material to work with in this storyline and it would suit a large number of game genres: FPS, Realtime Strategy, Third Person Action Game, and more beyond that. It's a brilliantly told and very extensive story that would do well from being adapted into a game in at least some way. And the Jedi Civil War would make an excellent backdrop for a sequel.
